1. What happens if I'm not happy with the consultation results?
Just like working with a decorator face to face, there might be an item you don't understand or just plain don't like. We will work with you to find a modification to the design scheme that you do like - our goal is for you to LOVE your new space!
2. How long does it take to receive my answers once I submit the form?
We strive to have your answers emailed to you within 2 business days. In the rare event there is some reason why it will take longer you will be notified within 24 hours of submission and given the date you can expect your answers.
3. Several consultations say that I will be provided with a shopping list. What is that for?
Sometimes a room needs a few more items to make it complete. We compile a list for you of things we see that might enhance the room's design. This list will have prices and links to places where you can find them. It is also a great guide to take with you if you are shopping in your local stores to get a feel for the type of lamp, rug, etc. that you need for your space.
4. Why are the rates so much lower than hiring a decorator in person?
When you hire a decorator or designer for a consultation, they must factor in overhead costs associated with the consultation such as drive time, gas, mileage, etc. Obviously, we don't have these expenses with online consultations. Their hourly rates also include the time it takes for them to take measurements and pictures of your room, and we have that information provided to us via the forms. All of this allows us to charge less and save you money!
5. I don't have a digital camera. Can I still do an online consultation?
Yes! If you are unable to submit pictures online, please email the answers to the form at Concierge@myinternetdecorator.com letting us know that you will be mailing the pictures we need. Please send them to: J.L. Smith Interior Decor, Inc. 12627 San Jose Blvd. Suite 705, Jacksonville FL 32223.
6. Do you have a list of subcontractors I can hire to do some of this work?
At this time we don't have a list of subcontractors outside the Jacksonville, FL area, but we recommend you contact your local builder's association to find a reputable subcontractor. Be sure above all else that you use a business that is licensed and insured. "Saving money" by using a business that is operating without insurance will cost you greatly in both quality and money. It's not worth the risk to you financially. Anyone who is truly in business will have insurance.
